Kathleen M. Sharp Kathleen M. Sharp of Boise, Idaho, released her spirit at home at the age of 87 on Tuesday, Sept. 23, 2008 at 2:45 p.m. (just one week prior to her 88th birthday). Services will be held at the Middleton Cemetery, Friday, Sept. 26, 2008 at 3 p.m. Arrangements by Summers Funeral Homes, Ustick Chapel. Kathleen was born to Asa Lawrence Nelson and Ella Dallenbach in Sunset, Utah on Sept. 30, 1920. Most of her childhood was spent in Ogden, Utah with her sister, brother, and half-brother. After high school graduation, she provided child care in California where she met Harry Harms, Jr. After a couple of years of courtship, they were married in January 1945. Their time together was short-lived when Harry passed away from stomach cancer Feb. 13, 1945. After a few months, Iris (hergood friend since high school) introduced Kathleen to her brother, Vernal L. Sharp, whom she married in December 1945. They moved to Adrian, Ore. and worked together on a large farm. In addition to raising sugar beets, alfalfa, hay, and grain, they maintained 15 to 20 dairy cows. Kathleen worked very hard on the farm, as well as, being a homemaker. (The enticing taste and aroma of her homemade bread will always be remembered.) When Vernal passed away in 1971, she sold the farm and bought a house in Boise, Idaho. She worked in the laundry room of the University Inn, later provided child care, and finally worked as a residential assistant for seniors. After retiring, she moved to Middleton, Caldwell, and back to Boise. Her favorite activities were needlepoint, bingo, playing Spit and Spite, and spending time with her family. The last four years, Kathleen lived with her granddaughter, Delta Dalgarn, who was her caretaker. Delta's devoted care provided her with an improved and extended quality of life. Kathleen was preceded in death by both of her parents, one brother, one sister, and one stepson. She is survived by her three children: Richard C. Harms (Ontario, Ore.), Joy L. Dalgarn (Boise, Idaho), and Dale Sharp (Caldwell, Idaho), one half-brother (Ray Mumford of Carson City, Nev.), seven grandchildren (Tina, Carol, Melanie, Delta, Casey, Summer, and Coy), five great-grandchildren (Andrea, Ashley, Dillon, Samantha C., and Samantha S.), and two great-great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend a heartfelt "Thank You" to the Four Rivers Hospice staff who treated Kathleen with care, respect, and devotion. Memorials may be made to a charity of ones choice in Kathleen's name. Although you will be missed tremendously, we will all celebrate your life and remember you in our hearts!
