Nancy J. Stavinga (Medema) 74, passed away unexpectedly on September 18, 2013 in her Marysville home. She was the youngest of five children born to Edward and Wilhelmina Medema on November 1, 1938. She graduated from Snohomish High School in 1956 where she was class valedictorian. Upon graduation she attended Calvin College where she met the love of her life, Jim Stavinga, her husband of 54 years. She is survived by her husband; three children: Scott Stavinga, Wendy Amundsen (John), Todd Stavinga; one sister, Marge (Art) Wrisley; seven grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Betty and Priscilla Medema; plus numerous caring nieces and nephews. Nancy taught at Everett Christian School for two years and worked at the Snohomish County Clerk’s office. She returned to school later in life and was employed by the Microsoft Corporation. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren. Viewing will be Friday, September 27, 2-4 p.m. at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy, Everett. Services will be held on September 28, 12:00 p.m. at First Christian Reformed Church, 1429 McDougall, Everett, WA. Memorial donation can be made to Harvest Hands Ministries, P.O.
