Edward Medema
Edward Medema passed away July 11, 2005.
He is survived by his wife, Mary; children, Peg (Marcus) Folts, Ellen "Chris" Simpson, Peter (Nancy), Adrianna (Charles) Ball, and Julie (John) Williams; 13 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Adriana Medema; and brothers, Ernest Medema and Herman Medema.
During WWII, Ed served with the 19th General Hospital Unit from Rochester, New York, in England and France. He then served in the Army with the 98th Division Reserves, retiring as a Warrant Officer 4. He was a retiree of General Railway Signal and Xerox.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the funeral home of Alvah Halloran & Son, 2125 Chili Avenue, Rochester, New York. Funeral service, 10 a.m., Thursday, at the Lutheran of Our Saviour Church, 2415 Chili Avenue. Interment, White Haven Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, 601 Elmwood Avenue, Box 645, Rochester, NY 14642.
