Laurell Taylor, 81, passed away in Boise, Idaho, April 11, 2013, of natural causes.
A graveside service will be held in Salina on Memorial Day weekend.
Laurell was born Dec. 9, 1931, in Fremont. She was raised in Fremont and Loa.
She married and then moved to Salt Lake City, where she had her first child. She then moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where she lived with her husband for many years hunting and fishing, and they had three more children. She had a lot of fond memories of Alaska.
In 1963 they moved to Las Vegas, where she resided until 1992 when her husband retired and they moved to Richfield. In 1996, after her husband passed away, she moved back to Las Vegas until 2006, when she moved to Boise to live near family.
She traveled back to Alaska as many times as she could during her lifetime after she moved away. She had two children that lived there, and a sister and her sister's husband and nieces and nephews.
When she lived in Las Vegas she loved three day weekends so the family could go to Utah and visit grandparents. She also loved Christmas and knew how to make it special. She completed cosmetology school as well as some other college learning computers. She was a hairdresser for a few years. She mostly loved being a homemaker.
She is survived by her daughters Patricia Dam, Anchorage; Terry Dougal, Boise, Idaho; her son, Arland Dan Taylor, Boise; three grandchildren, Joseph A. Dougal, Olympia, Wash.; James R. Dougal, Boise; and Jennifer E. Dougal, Boise; two brothers-in-law, Jr. Torgerson, Richfield; and Cline Christiansen. Provo; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Elton Taylor, Salina; Don and Dorta Taylor, Kanab; Edgar and Carrie Taylor, Nephi; Anna Rae and Clark Halversen, Ogden; Donna and Ted Norton, Washington City; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Arland C. Taylor; her son, Calvin L. Taylor; her parents, Miel and Minnie Pierce; her mother and father-in-law, Owen and Blanche Taylor; all of her sisters and some of their husbands, Ina and Ralph Peterson, Nita and Vearl Taylor, Nita's second husband Phil Nielsen, Una and Darrell Adams, Shonna Torgerson, Lana Christiansen; sister-in-law, Marella Taylor; and son-in-law, Jeffrey N. Dam.
Honorary pallbearers are Jr. Torgerson, Cline Christiansen, Elton Taylor, Dave Peterson, Sherral Allred, Clayton K. Johnson, Joe Dougal, James Dougal, Dick Adams, Glen Adams, Mark Dam, Jeff Taylor, Ralph Christiansen and Arland Dan Taylor.
