Wooden was born December 31, 1855, and passed away athis home December 28, 1941, age 86 years, 11 Months and 28 days.Early in life he united with the Church of Christ.April22, 1880 he was united in marriage to Nancy Miles and tothis union 13 childrenwere born. Four preceded him in death.His wife passed away May 2, 1931. He leaves nine children tomourn his loss, 22 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, ahost of relatives and friends. Mr. Wooden lived on the placewhere he wasborn.Funeral services were conducted at the Christian church at BlueMound Tuesday at 3: o'clock by Elder W. E. Ballenger. Intermentin the Blue Mound Cemetery." The last few years hehas walked on crutches which was a lot of comfort for him, buthe bore all these sufferings for these many years with patience,always had a kind word and a smile of sunshine when any onewould go to see him.He was a kind husband, a loving father and a good citizen andneighbor. He was a firm believer in his Bible and read hisBible as long as his eyes would permit him to. He will be sadlymissed by all his childrenand by all who knew him.Mr. Wooden passed away on the place where he was born andreared.Funeral services were held at the Blue Mound Church, Tuesdayafternoon, at two o'clock, conducted by Rev. Ballenger, of Hale.Interment was in the Blue Mound cemetery.Pallbeares were: George Vaughn, Roy Sperry, George McCracken,Everett Haynes, George Minnis, and John Bradley.We extend sympathy to the bereaved family."
