Madge Leonane Johnson Peterson, age 87, passed away Tuesday, November 6, 2012 in Nephi, Utah surrounded
by her loving family. Madge was born October 21, 1925 in Holden, Utah to Fred Johnson and Emily Turner Johnson, the 9th of 17 children. She married her sweetheart Lowell Dale Peterson October 10, 1942. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles, California Temple. They spent 70 loving years together.
Mom was a member of the LDS Church and served in many callings. Mom's greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She took great pride in her home, yard and cooking. Her sewing talents were also enjoyed by many. Mom always took the time to write a thoughtful hand written letter to express her love. She and dad served in the Houston Texas Mission from October, 1983 until January 1985. She worked many years for the Millard County School Lunch and later for the Fillmore community hospital.
Madge is survived by her husband Dale; 3 Children: Connie Davidson of Nephi; Gordon (Tyra) Peterson of Aurora, Colorado; Teresa Carrer of Lehi; Siblings: Bernez Bennett; Blanch Adams; Utahna (Gary) Jones; Pearlie Coleman; Audrey ( Mike) Nielson; Jack (Ruth) Johnson; Jerri (Ralph) Piercey; 15 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren, and two great great- grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; siblings Norma Gerome, June Turner, Mildred Stephensen, Stanford Johnson, Vivian Gardner, Ferrell Johnson, Lloyd Johnson, Kirk Johnson, and Ted Johnson; grandson Tracey Davidson
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 10, 2012 at the Fillmore Stake Center at 2:00pm. A viewing will be held from 12:30-1:30pm prior to the funeral.
