of Mrs. Bradshaw, Roachler, to Ada,
daughter of Mr. and the late Mrs. H.
Jones, Pateena.
Ivory Satin Gown
A classic gown of Ivory satin wat
worn by Sylvia Bradshaw. eldest daugh
ter of Mrs. A. and the late Mr. A. L
Bradshaw. for her wedding at the Pater
son St. Methodist Church on Saturday
night to Rex Houghton, son of Mr. and
Mrs. R. Houghton. The bride was given
away by her grandfather, Mr. H. A.
Jones, Longford, and Rev. Robert Ward
performed the ceremony.
The simplicity of the gown was empha
sised by the heart-shaped neckline and
the long sleeves came to points over the
hands. The shoulders and waistline were
embroidered %with hand-made satin
flowers and pearls. A coronet of pearls
mounted the bride's misty tulle veil,
which was lent by Mrs. R. Neilson. White
Christmas roses and narcissi were in
her bouquet.
The bride was attended by Mrs. T.
Chenhall as matron of honour and Miss
Beryl Bradshaw as bridesmaid. They
were dressed alike in dinner gowns of
blue satin-backed crepe fashioned with
V necklines and pointed waistlines. Deep
pink ribbon trimmed their matching hats
and they carried bouquets of pink Christ
mas roses and erica.
Mr. J. Houghton was best man and Mr.
F. Houghton was groomsman.
When receiving guests at the New
Grotto Mrs. Bradshaw wore a beige coat
over her brown frock, which was striped
in silver. Her brown hat was trimmed
with beige and her accessories were
brown In her coat she pinned a spray
of Christmas roses.
Mrs. Houghton's navy frock was worn
with a.matching hip-length coat and navy
accessories. Christmas roses were also
in her shoulder spray. The wedding cake
was donated by Mr. H. Jones, Long
ford.
When leaving thle reception the bride
wore a brown check suit which was
smartly piped in brown. With her honey
coloured coat she wore a brown hat and
brown accessories.
Mr. and Mrs. Rex Houghton are spend
ing their honeymoon on the North-East
Coast. They will make their home in
Launceston.
