Onderstaande notitie vond ik op internet. Het zou dus kunnen zijn dat Oostinck afstamt van de familie Oosting in Meppel.

The Oostink or Oostinck family lived mainly in Meppel. While no baptismal record for Oostink has been found he was possibly a (illigitimate?) descendant of the family I have listed below.

Father Albert, for whom no baptismal record can be found, was probably either a son of one of the Oostinck families listed below or an illigitimate son of one of them

A complete, for as far as it could be found, genealogy of the Oostinck (Oosting) family was published in 1930, some additions have ben found since but not our Oostink Alberts. The nk ending instead of ng was a common occurance among folks from Drenthe.
