AGNES ARCHIBALD was bp. 17 Dec. 1749, Scoonie p., . of James Archibald & Christian King. It is believed that she was m. (1) in Inveresk p., 6 Feb. 1771, to William Lindsay, as his second wife, at which time they owned their irregular m. [76]. It is believed that this m. relates to the ancestor, since her first two children were named James and Christian and likely for her parents, since William's parents were believed named in his children by his first wife. It is also believed that James Archibald, who witnessed at three bps. of children of Agnes and William, was her father. It is believed that her husband, William, died shortly, and during the time when Inveresk burial records are missing, (1763-83), but after 5 Jan. 1777 when their last known child was bp. in Inveresk p. [18]. She m. (2), Peter Currie, 11 Apr. 1780, in Inveresk p. [76). Their dau., Isobel, was bp. in Inveresk p. in 1791, with James Lindsay as a witness [18]. It is believed that James Lindsay was Agnes' eldest son by her first husband. Also, her second husband, Peter Currie, witnessed at four bps, of children of James Lindsay and his wife, Isobel Neilson. Agnes' burial record has not been found.
