Van Hoogmade was a Dutch Mennonite family belonging to the Waterlander congregation at Leiden, Dutch province of South Holland. Gerrit Frankensz van Hoogmade, a merchant, in 1630 founded Bethlehem, a home for the aged, which he gave to the Waterlander congregation. His son Salomon Gerritsz van Hoogmade was a deacon of this congregation, as were some of his descendants.
