According to Jack Gilchrist in April of 2013, he was the son of Benedict Brechbuehl & Madlena Muller. He married Maria Herr about 1701 and fathered three children born in Weiler, Sax Germany. Rev. Brackbill sold his house and farm near Weilerin Sape on the river Werre, Germany for 700 Rix dollars ($570.15). He sailed for America in 1717 with his wife and three children and arrived in Philladelphia, Pennsylvania on Aug. 24, 1717, having been on the passage for 12 weeks. The expenses were$30.44 a piece.
He bought 250 acres of land between Strasburg and Bunker Hill in Lancaster County, PA for $186.66. He was a Mennonite Preacher and had travelled a great deal in Germany proclaiming the "Blessed Gospel". Father of Maudlin and Barbara Brackbill.
