In the name of God Amen I Gallant Hampton of the Town and Port of Dover in the County of Kent Gentleman being of sound and disposing Mind Memory and Understanding do hereby make publish and declare my last Will and Testament in manner following that is to say first I direct that all my just debts funeral expenses and the charges of proving and executing this my will be fully paid and satisfied and from and after payment and satisfaction thereof I give and bequeath to my sister Rachel East of Dover aforesaid widow my household furniture Plate Linen China Books and Cloaths also I give and bequeath the Rents Products(?) and Profits of all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate and Effects unto my said sister Rachel East and her assigns for and during the term of her natural life and immediately after her decease I give and bequeath one seventh part of all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Estate and Effects to my niece Elizabeth Ledgant East also I give and bequeath one other seventh part thereof unto my nephew John Nepuen East also I give and bequeath one other seventh part thereof to my niece Rachel the wife of Richard Bean of Dover aforesaid Tailor also I give and bequeath one other seventh part thereof to my niece Sarah East also I give and bequeath one other seventh part thereof to my nephew Henry East also I give and bequeath one other seventh part thereof unto my niece Kitty East and also I give and bequeath the remaining seventh part thereof unto and amongst Mary Martin Kennett Beecham Martin and William East Martin the children of my late niece Mary Martin who was the wife of Michael Martin of Dover aforesaid Tailor equally to be divided between them share and share alike and I do hereby nominate constitute(?) and appoint Thomas Pain of Dover aforesaid Gentleman and the said Richard Bean Executors of this my Will and revoke and make void all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and declare this only to be my last Will and Testament put my hand and seal this ffourteenth day of June in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine Gallant Hampton (signature) signed sealed published and delivered by the said Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who at his request in his presence and in the presence of each other leave subscribed our names as witnesses John Nethersole James Carlow (signatures)
This Will was proved at London the sixteenth day of July in the year of Our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety nine before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor at Law Master and Keeper or Commissary of the Prorogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the oaths of Thomas Pain and Richard Bean the Executors named in the said Will to whom administration of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Products(?) of the deceased was granted having been first sworn by Commission duty to Administer.
