Regarding William Wilkinson and Amarinthia's daughter Martha Ann (and several others), Summit Plantation is in St. Paul's Colleton Dist, On Swinton Creek. Built 1819 according to Anges Baldwin in her book, "Plantations of the Low Country, South Carolina, 1697-1865". The original house called "Rat Hall" was bought at a tax sale by Amarinthia's father, Daniel Jenkins in 1801. When Amarinthia and William married in 1813, Daniel gave them the existing house and they built new, completed in 1819, called "Summit" to mark her happiness. Since it's on the Edisto River system, sometimes referred to as "Pon Pon, the Indian name, sometimes that area is called Pon, Pon. William's main area of agriculture was at Adams Run.
