Peter Schoffstall Sr. (RW) was born circa 1740 in Germany. He was the son of Johannes Schoffstall and Anna Gertrude (?). Peter Schoffstall Sr. (RW) married Anna Elizabeth Kormann circa 1757. He served in Captain William Smythes 1st Battalion, 5th Company, Lancaster Co. Militia during the Revolutionary War. Peter Schoffstall Sr. (RW) died in 1815 in Lykens Township, Dauphin Co., PA. He was buried in St Peter's (Hoffman's) Church Cemetery, Lykens Township, Dauphin Co., PA.

Henry was b. Oct. 30, 1808, d. May 7,1867 buried at Simeon Cemetery in Gratz. His parents were Henry Schoffstall (1765-1840), buried at Hoffman Cemetery and his wife Elizabeth Catherine_____ Schoffstall b.1770, d. July11, 1831.
Henryâ??s second wife, Rebecca Wells b. Aug. 4, 1808 d. June 7, 1878 and they were both buried in Simeon Cemetery in Gratz.
Henry & Rebecca had 11 children: 1. Elizabeth b. Aug. 1, 1832, d. Feb. 1899, buried in Tower City and married John B. Mattis; 2. Henry married Emma_____; 3. Rebecca b. Aug. 1, 1836, d. 25 May 1893 and married William H. Shower (15 Jan. 1831-13 May 1894); 4. John (1838-1854); 5. Emanuel J. b. Apr. 19, 1839, d. Sept. 1, 1886 in Lykens and married Lydia A. Hoffman b. Aug. 11, 1842, d. Feb. 11, 1909. Lydia is the daughter of Jonah & Elizabeth (Lebo) Hoffman. She is buried at Greenwood Cemetery Tower City, Schuylkill Co. After Emanuel died, Lydia married H. K. Updegrove proprietor of the Tower City House; 6. Aaron b. Apr. 22, 1842 (moved to Sheffield, Bradford Co.); 7. Simon b. about 1843; 8. Sarah b. 1844; 9. Charles b. 1847; 10. Solomon b. 1849, lived in Williamstown; 11. Frank, moved to Minersville, Schuylkill Co.
Henry's grandfather, Peter Schoffstall, was born in Germany in 1740. He was here in America at the age of 14 living in Strasburg Twp., Lancaster Co. Peter served in the Revolutionary War under Capt. Wm. Smythes 1st. Battalion, 5th Company, Lancaster County Militia. In Sept. 1764, Peter married Anna Elizabeth Kornmann (Korman) (1745-1813), who was born in Lancaster Co. In the early 1790s, Peter and his large family moved to Upper Paxton, which is now Lykens Twp. In 1798 he settled near Mahantongo Mountain on a grant of land in a two-story wood house, 30â??x26â?? with 10 windows and a barn. In all they had 12 children.
Henry (1808) is great grandson of the immigrant ancestor Johannes Schoffstall. Johannes came to America on Oct. 21, 1754 and settled in Lancaster Co. His death date was not found. Johannes had several children but only Peter stayed in Pa.
Rebecca, great-great granddaughter of the immigrant Johannes Schoffstall married William H. Showers. He lived in Gratz as early as 1855, when he resided in Henry Schoffstall house. He was a carpenter but he also taught in the Gratz Common School from 1856-63.
William H. Showers and his wife Rebecca bought a house in 1855. By 1864 they sold the house to George Washington Ferree. The Showers lived in Gratz until 1870 and then they moved to Tower City, Schuylkill Co. They had 11 children. 1. Emma Clark; 2. Catherine Rebecca married William Null; 3. Ellwood married Emeline Goodman; 4. Mary MaClada; 5. Henry A. married Emma B. Fehler; 6. Sarah Alice married Samuel M. Fesig; 7. Jonathan Grant; 8. Phillip Sherman; 9. John Wellington; 10. Annie married John Fetterhoff; 11. Charles Franklin married twice, first to Susan E. Aumiller and his second wife was Sallie Hopple.
Williamâ??s sixth child, Sarah Alice, married Samuel M. Fesig. Samuel was born in or around Suedburg, Pine Grove Twp. in Schuylkill Co. on March 16,1860, son of John & Angeline (Schwartz) Fesig. His father had a hotel business in Suedburg. In 1874 John relocated to Tower City, where he conducted a small store. He died in 1883.
Samuel M. Fesig was one of seven children: Emma; Elizabeth; John (decâ??d); Samuel M.; William married Mary Paulus; Charles & Edward.
William & Rebecca are both buried at St. Paulâ??s Lutheran Cemetery in Tower City.
