   Hannah Lincoln Branch Birth: Mar. 15, 1663 Taunton Bristol County Massachusetts, USA Death: Jan. 16, 1731 Preston New London County Connecticut, USA POWERS-BANKS ANCESTRY pg 167: from Taunton Deeds, 3, p 77: 4 January 1694, Peter Branch of Preston, Conn., sold land in Taunton “that belonged to my wife Hannah Lincoln, daughter of Thomas Lincoln, of Taunton, Mass.” (Bristol Co Deeds 3:79)Hannah’s father was the miller of Taunton, Massachusetts. Her grandfather, Thomas Lincoln, also the miller, came from Hingham, England, to Hingham, Massachusetts, about 1636, and his mill at Taunton, Massachusetts, was used as a place of meeting for the conference with King Philip before the war. DESC. OF PETER BRANCH said Hannah LINCOLN-- was the aunt of Abe Lincoln. After much research on Abe Lincoln's genealogy it appears much nore distant than that.. She died in 1631. 2. Married Samuel Staples and possible previously married to Daniel Owen. See will Samuel Staples: The will of Samuel Staples, who died in Smithfield, RI on 19 FEB 1743 mentions his wife Hannah. Since I understand this to mean that she was living when he died, then this Hannah could not have been married to Peter Branch. She could have only been married previously to Daniel Owen.
