The property and goods of most of these 10 families had already been seized by the sheriff. The Jacob Yoder property was sold Sept 1, 1778 and realized over 700 pounds. The petition was presented to the Assembly on Sept 10, 1778 and referred to the Executive Council, with the recommendation to them to inquire into the facts set forth in the petition, and if the same was found true, re- lief was to be granted to their present distresses, as they might think proper by a draft on the State Treasurer. The minutes of the Executive Council show that the petition was received by them on Sept 17, 1778 and John Ralston, Peter Rhodes and Doctor Linn were ordered to make an inquiry and report to the Council. No further mention of the matter ap- pears in the Executive Council Minutes, and there is no record of the final disposition of this case.
