She was delivered by Dr. Mary Bowen. She had blue eyes and light brown hair. Lauren became ill and had severe headaches while a child. She couldn't keep food down. Finally, she was diagnosed as having a brain tumor. It was pressing on the part of the brain that controls digestion. Lauren had an obituary that was titled, "Lauren Rose Smith Dies Friday In Little Rock Hospital". It read "Funeral services for Lauren Rose Smith, six years old, who died late Friday in a Little Rock hospital of a brain tumor, were held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Hardwicke Funeral Home Chapel. Interment was in Oakland Cemetery." It then lists family survivors, and closes "Captain Smith, who recently returned to the states following 18 months service in Korea, is stationed at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri."
