Kindred Oldham
Kindred Oldham, 90 a retired Pleasant Shade Community farmer, died Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at the Carthage General Hospital following an extended illness.
Services were conducted by Elder James Thomas Gibbs and Elder Billy Joe Shoulders from the Carthage Chapel of Sanderson Funeral Home on Friday, May 6, 2005. Burial was at the Pleasant Shade Cemetery.
On March 28, 1937, Mr. Oldham married the former Alice Luzell Kittrell by then Justice of the Peace, the late Oakley Dickerson.
He was born on Feb. 7, 1915, the son of the late Willie Thomas and Maymie Ellen Taylor Wilkerson.
His only sibling, Mai C. Oldham Beasley preceded him in death.
A lover of his family farm and a tiller of the soil, Mr. Oldham was a lifelong farmer. He was a Missionary Baptist.
In addition to his wife of 68 years, he is survived by five children, Ronald Oldham and wife Nancy of Tennessee Ridge, Prentice Oldham and wife Aileen of Hendersonville, Judith Webb and husband Edward of the Grant Community, Nancy Brandon and husband Larry and Susan Ragland and husband Gerald of Pleasant Shade; then grandchildren, Bobby and Billy Oldham, Libby Oldham, Keith and Kenley Webb, Lindsey Woodard, and Sonya Brandon, Amanda and Josh Ragland; and nine great grandchildren.
Arrangements were made by Sanderson Funeral Home in Carthage.
