Bessie Irene Hornbeak, 95, of Memphis passed away on August 11, 2009 at The Highlands Manor of Memphis. She is the widow of Ralph Hornbeak whom she was married to for over 55 years. Mrs. Hornbeak was a long-time resident of Union City, Tennessee where she lived for 68 years before moving to Memphis to be near her daughter and grandsons. She loved to travel and considered herself the number one fan of the Atlanta Braves. Visitation with the family will be Friday, August 14 between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. with funeral services starting at 11 a.m. at the White-Ranson Funeral Home in Union City, Tennessee. Burial and graveside services will be later on Friday at 2:30 p.m. at Hornbeak Cemetery located in Greenfield, Tennessee. Mrs. Hornbeak is survived by her daughter, Ann Sullivan, along with Ann's husband, Richard, of Memphis, Tennessee. In addition, she is survived by two grandsons, Christopher McComic (Susanne) and Geoffrey McComic (Melanie); and two great-grandchildren, Sinclair and Cole McComic, all of San Diego, California. She also leaves niece, Janice Trimm of Union City; and nephew, Patrick Trimm of Washington, D.C., along with two step-grandchildren, Lori Southern (Todd) of Charleston, S.C., Jeffery Sullivan (Jennifer) and three step-great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
