He was born Dec. 20, 1922, in Oakdale to Thomas and Bertha Kittrell Cagle. He attended Luminary United Methodist Church and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He retired from the Tennessee Department of Corrections, where he was a correctional officer. He was owner of Cagle’s TV & Appliance in Harriman for 30 years and was a member of South Roane County Fire Department.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Viola; and two brothers, Fred and Wilbur Cagle.
Survivors include a son, David Cagle and wife Susan, Kingston; two grandchildren, Alisha Michelle Puentes and husband Robert, and James David Cagle and wife Courtney; and two great-grandchildren, Alexandria and Abigail Cagle.
Funeral services will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, in Evans Mortuary chapel, Rockwood, with Pastor Luke Kidwell officiating. Graveside and burial will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, at Roane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Evans Mortuary.

Mr. James Homer “Jim” Cagle, age 88, of Bayside Drive, Ten Mile, TN died Thursday, June 30, 2011 at The Bridge at Rockwood. Graveside and interment will be held Wednesday, July 6 at 11:00 a.m. at Roane Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Evans Mortuary.
