TROY, S.C. - Miss Mildred Elizabeth Wardlaw, died June 23, 2002. Funeral service will be held 11a.m., Wednesday, at Troy A.R.P. Church. Survivors include parents, the late William Wideman and Annie Bradley Wardlaw; Francis M. Wardlaw Sr., Mrs. H. Ryan Deason Sr., Mrs. Nathan E. Wright. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8p.m., Tuesday at Strom Funeral Home, Hwy. 378, McCormick, S.C.

TROY — Mildred Elizabeth “Miss Betty” Wardlaw, 89, of Troy, died Sunday, June 23, 2002, at Self Regional Medical Center.Born in Greenwood County, she was a daughter of the late William Wideman and Annie Bradley Wardlaw. She graduated from the University of South Carolina. She was a Public Health Nurse for over 40 years and a World War II Army veteran. She was a member of the Troy Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, the Troy Fire Department and the Troy Community Center.Survivors include a brother, Francis “Frank” M. Wardlaw Sr. of Troy and two sisters, Mrs. H. Ryan (Mary) Deason Sr. of Troy and Mrs. Nathan E. (Annie) Wright of Augusta, Ga.Services are at 11 Wednesday at Troy A.R.P. Church, conducted by the Rev. Ray King. Burial is in Troy Cemetery.Pallbearers are John Buie, Charles W. Wardlaw, Foster Wardlaw, Henry R. Deason Jr., Christopher William Cox and Francis Marion Wardlaw Jr.Honorary pallbearers are Bradley Buie, Johnny Wardlaw, David Wardlaw, Rob Wardlaw, Billy Wardlaw, Kurt Lyons and Roosevelt Drennon.Visitation is from 6-8 Tuesday at Strom Funeral Home, Highway 378, McCormick.The family is at the home of Frank M. Wardlaw.Memorials may be made to Troy A.R.P. Church, c/o LP Chamberlain or to Troy Cemetery Perpetual Fund, Box 23, Troy, S.C.Strom Funeral Home is in charge.
