The death occurred at Canberra Hospital last night, of Mr G. E. Ashbury, at the age of 64 years. The late Mr. Ashbury was the father of Mrs. Nott, of Forrest, and has been residing with his daughter and son-in-law, Dr. Nott, for about I8 months. For many years, the late Mr. Ashbury was in the service of the Post-master-General's Department, and held positions in the northern, districts of New South Wales until his retirement three years ago, through ill health.
The funeral service will be held in the graveyard of St. John the Baptist's Church, at -1 p.m. today.
