Winnie Stander
Mrs. Winnie Korver Stander, age 86, of Orange City, passed away Friday, July 18, at the Orange City Municipal Hospital Long Term Care Facility. There will be a memorial service on Monday, July 21, at ll:00am, at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. The Rev. David Ter Beest will officiate. Interment will be prior to the service at West Lawn Cemetery in Orange City. There will be a family prayer service on Monday, at 10:00am, at the Oolman Funeral Home in Orange City. Visitation will be after 4:00pm Sunday, with the funeral home.
Winnie was born January 1, 1917, at Alton, the daughter of Gerrit and Gertie (Vander Maaten) Kleinhesselink. She was raised at Alton, where she graduated from high school.
On January 28, 1937, she married Arthur O. Korver at Alton. They farmed in the Hospers-Alton area until 1946, when they moved to Orange City. Mr. Korver passed away April 14, 1957, in Orange City. On October 18, 1963, she married Dick Stander in Orange City. Mr. Stander passed away September 22, 1965, in Orange City. In 1997, Winnie became a resident of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City.
She was a homemaker and also a seamstress at De Vries Interiors in Orange City for many years. Mrs. Stander was a member of the First Reformed Church, where she participated in the women's organizations. She enjoyed bowling and quilting.
Survivors include her three children and their spouses, Muryl and Rose Korver, of Hospers; Lois And Roger De Geest of Casa Grande, Arizona; and Audley Bud" and Mary Korver, of Council Bluffs; two step-children and their spouses, Paul and Lois Stander, of Lake Park; and Phyllis and Harley Klemwolterink, of Orange City; seven grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren 17 step-great-grandchildren; a sister and her husband, Mildred and Russell Van Gorp, of orange City; two sisters-in-law, Arabella Kleinhesselink and Allie Korver, both of Orange uty; and a brother-in-law and his wife, Simon and Gert Korver, of Lynden, Washington.
In addition to her husbands, she was preceded in death by a grandson, a brother, Joe Kleinhesselink; and three sisters, Dena De Vries, Henrietta Van t Hof' and Alvina Vander Zwaag. Memorials are being directed to the Pioneer Memorial Home.

Mrs. Winnie Korver and Dick Stander were united in marriage Friday evening October 18 at 7:00 pm at the home of the bride. Rev. R. van Heukelom officiated in the presence of the immediate family.
