Roger, the fecond fon of Richard, aforefaid, was the firft baron of Warkworth, in Northumberland, by gift of Hen. II. and from him is lineally defeended, the noble familyof the Claverings. This Roger, married Alianor, daughter and coheir, (with her filler, Alice, who married one Vcrc, from whom the Veres, earls
of Oxford, defeended,) ofHenry, of ElTex, baron of Raleigh j
by her he had one fon, Robert, who founded the monaltery of Langlev, in Norfolk, and married Margaret, only daughter and heir to William de Caifncto, vulgo, Cheney, (relict of Hugo de Crcfcy,) and by failure of male iliue of the faid Crefcy, the ba-rony of Harford, in Norfolk, fell to the heirs of this Robert. King Richard, gave to him the lands of Eure, in Bucks. He was (heriff, for many years, of Norfolk, Suffolk, and Northum- berland. and left one fon.'
