[Richard Hodgson]
3rd son of John de Hethe.
---
Of Hethes Place, Mildenhall, Suffolk.

This estate of Timworth soon after [the marriage of Agnes Strange, to Robert Mordaunt, qv] became vested in the Hethe family; for, by the will of Thomas Hethe, of Mildenhall, dated in 1440, he gives all his lands in Timworth, and the advowson of the church of Timworth, after the decease of Elizabeth his wife, to remain to William, his second son, in tail; remainder to John, his third son; remainder to George, his eldest brother; remainder to the testator's right heirs. It is probable this William Hethe resided upon his estate, in this parish. He deceased without issue, as did John, his younger brother; and this estate reverted to George Hethe, of Mildenhall, their elder brother, or his son, Francis Hethe, of that parish; whose only daughter and heiress Margaret, married George Bokenham, of Great Livermere, Esq.
---
Edmund Lucas of West Stow, died temp. Henry VI. His second wife was Agnes (Tamworth), who had previously been married (i) to Thomas de Ickworth and (2) to Nicholas Heth. She had Ickworth till her death in 1437, when there was a dispute as to whose it should be, and the arbitrators awarded it to Sir William Drury.
