Sir Hugh Maunselll, Knt. Banneret, of MIssenden, Chichele, and Berry End, etc., Bucks, and Scurlage, Glamorgan, married Elizabeth or Isabel, dau. and heir of Sir John Penrys, Knt., Lord of Oxwich. Sir Hugh and his father-in-law were both living 1367, as stated in MSS at Britton Ferry. He also held lands at Brockton, co. Salp, from the Earl of Stafford in 1399, and his heirs held them in 1467 of Humphyr Duke of Buckingham. He was succeded by his eldest son. [History of Maunselll p18]

Sir Hugn Maunselll (born about 1340), Knt., Banneret, of Missenden, Chichele, and Bere end, etc., Buks, and Scurlage Castle, Gower, married Isabella daughter and heir of Sir John Penrice, of Penrice and Oxwich Castle, in Gower, and sister and heir of Sir John Penrice, who, with his nephew, Richard Mansel, is mentioned in a deed dated at Penrice 1394. Sir Hugh and his father were both living in 1367, as stated in Britton Ferry MSS. He also held lands in Brockton, county Salop, under the Earl of Stafford, 1399, and his heir held them in 1467 under Humphrey, Duke of Buckingham.
