Note:
of Benenden, Kent, was probably born between 1439 and 1446.  He was a prosperous land holder of Benenden and nearby.  His first wife was the mother of his children.  His second wife was Joan, apparently the widow of John Locas.  John died in 1489.  Joan died in 1502.  Both left wills.

the testament of John Glover of Benynden ... to be buried in the church of Saint George of Benynden ... to the high altar for tithes forgotten 10s. ... for a light at the altar 12d., to Saint John the baptist 12d., to the image of the Blessed Virgin Mary 12d. ... to my wife Joan my two best cows... wife Joan to enjoy for the term of her widowhood one ten gallon cooking pot, 2 boards, one pair of trestles and the hangings in the hall, but if she remarry, then to my son Thomas ... to Joan my wife one silver bowl while she remains a widow, then at age 24 to Richard Bigge son of John Bigge, but if she remarry before Richard comes to age 24, then the silver bowl to be in the custody of Thomas Glover my son ... if Richard dies before age 24, then to my son Thomas... to Thomas Watt son of Thomas Watt one of my cattle to the value of 6s. 8d. ... residue of my utensils to wife Joan ... to each of my feoffees 3s. 4d... Redisue to my son Thomas Glover whom I make executor.

The will of John Glover ... wife Joan to occupy the place that I dwell in at Benyndennys forstall and a house with a garden at that other side of the street as long as she is a widow, with sufficient fuel each year ... if Joan will releas 13s. 4d. every year of the sum that she hath to her jointure in way of her marriage, then she shall have 2 pieces of land of which one is called Bermfield and the other lying in Benynden on the denne of Benynden, for the time of her widowhood ... Joan to have 2 acres called Kynton ... the heirs of the said Joan to have 8 days of remedy after her decease to have out of the abovesaid place all the stuff and goods of the said Joan my wife ... to Richard Bigg son of John Bigge and of Alice my daughter all my lands and tenements lyingin Old Romney at his age of 24, but if he die without issue before that age, then to my next heirs ... the profits from the said lands to be spent for my soul until the age of 24 of the said Richard Bigge ... to John Glover my godson, son of Thomas Glover aforesaid all my lands and tenements in Sanhurst at his age of 24, except a parcel of land late purchased of Reynald Abroke, which I will to Thomas my son ... if son John Glover die before age 24 without issue, then lands in Sandhurst to Thomas my son.
