MONTAYNE, 70, DIES; RETIRED MAIL CARRIER
Central Bridge -- Fred J. Montayne, 70, of 54 Main St., Esperance, died yesterday at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Montayne was born in the Town of Duanesburg and had lived in Esperance most of his life. He was a rural letter carrier 43 years, retiring several years ago. Mr. Montayne was a member of Esperance-Sloansville United Methodist Church and served as treasurer. He was a charter member of the Esperance Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Helen Rockwell Montayne; a daughter, Mrs. David Van Blois of Dearborn Heights, Mich., and two grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Esperance-Sloansville United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Esperance Cemetery. There will be no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1354 Union St., Schenectady.
The Langan Funeral Home, Central Bridge, is in charge of arrangements.
