George F. Ressegieu of Sharon Springs, aged 86 years arid James S. Hyney, of Cobleskill, aged 94 years, are two remarkably well preserved men of Schoharie County who can figure their life time at an age around the four score and ten mark. In addition to this they also enjoy the proud distinction of having voted
twice for Abraham Lincoln for president of the United States, an honor unusually
rare at this late day.
GEORGE FOX RESSEGIEU
George Fox Ressegieu died at the home of his nephew, Stanley A. Crounse. 17 East State street, Johnstown, Sunday night at 7:45. Ho was born at Sharon Springs, June 2, 1837, the son of John Ressegieu and Eva N. Anthony. He had always made his home in that portion of the country until three years aso, when he went to Johnstown to reside with his nephew.
On September 1, 1882, he enlisted In tho Union army as a private in Company K. 142d volunteers. He was honorably discharged from the service on June 7, 1865. He saw considerable action during the time he was in the service, having taken
part in a number of the critical battles. He was a member of Farrell post, G. A. R. of Canajoharie.
Mr. Rcssegieu's survivors are one son, Merle Ressegieu, of Schoharie, one sister, Mrs. Luclnda Crounse, of Johnstown, several nieces and nephowa and also five grandchildren. The funeral la to be held at the home on Wednesday afternoon at 1 o'clock.- Burial is to be made in the Slate Hill cemetery at Sharon Hill.
