January 6, 2011 -- The Rev. Donald G. Nulton, 81, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away on Thursday, January 6, 2011, at the Little Flower Manor in Wilkes-Barre. He was born in Beaumont, on February 26, 1929, a son of the late Paul F. and Cora Gibson
Nulton. He was a graduate of Beaumont High School, class of 1947. He was a
graduate of the American Seminary of the Bible, Brooklyn, N.Y., and the
Burton College and Seminary, Manitou, Colo., where he received a Th.B and
Th.M degree. He was ordained at the Monroe Baptist Church, Beaumont, and did
student pastorate work at East New York. The Rev. Nulton served at the
Outlet Tabernacle Church, the Mehoopany Baptist Church, the Fox Hollow
Baptist Church, and at the Meade Street Baptist in Wilkes-Barre for 33
years, retiring in 1998. For a time prior to entering the Ministry, he was
employed at Natona Mills and at the Ruggles Lumber Co. He served with the
109th Field Artillery after graduation from high school. He was a charter
member of the FWM Emergency Squad in Mehoopany. He was preceded in death by a brother, Paul F. Nulton Jr. Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Erma A.
Crispell Nulton; daughter, Lois Kretchmer and her husband, Dr. Donald
Kretchmer, Trucksville; son Timothy D. Nulton, Harveys Lake; grandchildren,
Amanda and Michael Kretchmer, and Jordan and Tyler Nulton; as well as nieces
and nephews. Private funeral services will be held from the Nat & Gawlas
Funeral Home, 89 Park Ave., Wilkes-Barre, with the Rev. Jim Shields, Pastor
of the Outlet Free Methodist Church, Dallas, and the Rev. William
Stritzinger, retired Pastor of the Outlet Tabernacle Church, Harveys Lake,
officiating. Interment will be in Warden Cemetery, Dallas. There will be no
public calling hour. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made
to the Outlet Free Methodist Church, 531 Lehman Outlet Road, Dallas, PA
