MARIE CORDERO
Rotterdam -- Mrs. Marie Montanye Cordero, 36, of Wabash Avenue, died Monday at St. Clare's Hospital after a short illness.
Born in Schenectady, Mrs. Cordero was a lifelong area resident. She was a salesclerk at the Rotterdam Square Mall Kmart for six years and also at the Broadway CVS Pharmacy for the past three years. She also assisted with the Bellevue Reformed Church's weekly clothing drives.
Mrs. Cordero was a communicant of the Church of the Immaculate Conception and was an assistant in the school's computer classes.
Survivors include her husband, Daniel M. Cordero, whom she married on July 31, 1989; a son, Shaun Cordero of Rotterdam; a daughter, Krystal Cordero of Rotterdam; three brothers, Carl S. Montanye, Jr., of Lowville and Leland C. Montanye and Donald Strait, both of Schenectady; and two sisters, Dawn Montanye of Schenectady and Penny Wortz of Clifton Park.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Thompson Street, Schenectady.
Calling hours will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Leszczynski Funeral Home, 716 Crane St., Schenectady. ; Burial will be private. Contributions may be made to the Cordero Children's Memorial Fund, in care of Trustco Bank, 320 State St., Schenectady, NY 12305.
