Marie Olive Patton MacMillan went to be with her Lord Sunday, October 9, 2011. Marie was born on June 10, 1914, in Buckwheat Hollow, a daughter to the late Charles and Flora Traver Patton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; son Robert; and daughter Phyllis Ann Barber. Marie leaves behind to mourn her passing son William (Janice) MacMillan; daughter Shirley (Gerald) MacMillan Evelan; four granddaughters; two grandsons; five great-grandsons; three great-granddaughters; one great-great-granddaughter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She attended Beaumont High School, graduating in June 1930 from third high, and returned the following year to take the newly offered fourth year of high school to graduate again in 1931. She worked in the garment industry for 23 years, starting in Noxen and later moving to Ann Will in Kingston, then retiring in 1976. Marie has been a member of the Noxen United Methodist Church for over 60 years. During this time she was very active in many areas of the church which gave her much joy and satisfaction. She is the last of her generation on both the Patton and MacMillan sides of her family. She will be sorely missed but never forgotten. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace in her eternal home with family and the Lord. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Nulton Funeral Home Inc., SR 309, Beaumont, with the Rev. Linda Bryan, of the Noxen United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Orcutt Grove Cemetery, Noxen. Friends may call from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Friday morning in the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the memorial fund at Noxen United Methodist Church, 3390 SR 29S, Noxen, PA 18636.
