FUNERAL SERVICES SATURDAY FOR WALKER H. HENRY, 61
Walker H. Henry of White Plains, senior consultant in the General Electric Co's manager development consulting service, died yesterday morning in the White
Plains Hospital. He was 61 years old.
HENRY, WHO formerly resided on the Troy road, moved to White Plains in July, after being transferred to New York. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 p.m. from St. George's Episcopal Church. The Glock funeral parlors, 30 Jay street,
will be open Friday afternoon and evening.
Henry is survived by his wife, Mrs. Belle Swart Henry of 11 Heatherbloom road, White Plains; his son, Richard L. Henry, and a granddaughter, Gail Ann Henry,
of 1331 Poplar street; a sister, Mrs. B. B. Griffith Jr., of Sherman, Texas, and a brother, George B. Henry of Chicago.
A NATIVE OF TERRE HAUTE, Ind., Henry was graduated from Rose Polytechnic Institute in 1914 with a BS degree in electrical engineering. After a period with
Western Electric and the U.S. Navy, he joined GE in May, 1919, as fractional horsepower motor sales engineer in the Chicago office and later served in Kansas City, New York, and Boston offices. In 1928, Henry was named ssistant manager of fractional horsepower motor sales at Fort Wayne, Ind. He became manager
of sales in 1930. He was transferred to Schenectady in 1934 and after serving as assistant manager and manager of sales of the motor division was appointed manager of the motor division in 1942. Three years later he became assistant
manager of the industrial divisions, and in 1947 was named manager of the small and medium motor divisions, apparatus department.
IN JULY, 1953. Henry was named manager of marketing, motor and generator division, a position which he held until April of this year when he was transferred to New York city.
Henry received a citation during World war II for serving as a member of the industry advisory commtttee of the war production board. He also served as industry advisor to the national production authority during the Korean conflict.
Henry had served as chairman of the advisory committee of the motor and generator section and a member of the board of governors of the National Electrical Manufacturers Association.
A member of Bergen Masonic Lodge No. 47, Jersey City, of Sigma Nu fraternity, of St. George's Episcopal Church, the Mohawk Club, Mohawk Golf Club and Chamber of Commerce, all in Schenectady, he had been a director of the Animal Protective Foundation and was active in building the new shelter on Alplaus road.
