Cecil James "Coonie" Crispell of Noxen died Thurs in Hospice of the VNA at Heritage House in Wilkes Barre, PA. Born May 13, 1911 in Noxen, he was a son of the late George & Marian (Waltman) Crispell. He attended Beaumont Schools. He was a member of the Bowman's Creek Free Methodist Church and the South Mountain Land Assn. He worked at the Armour Tannery in Noxen until it closed and then was employed by Wilkes College until he retired in 1976. He was preceded in death by his brothers Lawrence and Carl; and sisters, Hilda Shupp and Alta Dendler. Surviving are his wife, the former Effa Blossom, whom he married Aug 5 1936; daughters Rachel Jane Schenck, Atlanta; and Kathryn Crispell, Dallas; two grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren; sisters, Lillian Boone, Noxen; and Mildred Mathews, Velma Martin and Esther Turner, all of Florida; brother, Lester, Noxen; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Monday from Nulton Funeral Home, state Route 309, Beaumont. The Rev. Gilbert Dutton and the Rev. Paul Newell will officiate. Interment will be in Orcutts Grove Cemetery in Noxen.
