Clifford E. Anderson, 75, Grafton and formerly of rural Stephen died Sunday Jan. 5, 2003 in Northwood Deaconess Health Center at Northwood. Clifford Edwin Anderson was born April 23, 1927 in rural Stephen the son of Edwin and Signe (Pearson) Anderson.
Clifford was a farmer and worked on the family farm since he was 8 years old. He attended Plainview Elementary School in Eagle Point Township and the Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston. He married Anna Mae Guest of Ellsworth, Wis. on Sept. 20, 1947.
Clifford was a member of Drayton Lutheran Church and served on the church board. He also served on the GTA Elevator Board, Eagle Point Township Board, and Plainview School Board. He was also a member of Stephen Masonic Lodge #279 A.F. and A.M. of Stephen and Kem Shrine Temple of Grand Forks. He also served as a 4-H club leader. He received his private pilot license and enjoyed flying for many years. Clifford and Anna Mae moved to Grafton in 1997.
Family members include his wife Anna Mae, Grafton; five children, Barbara (David) Forsberg, Thief River Falls; Larry (Pam) Anderson, Drayton; Jeanne Dahl, Bloomington; Craig (Terri) Anderson, Grafton; and Cathy Anderson, Grafton; seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; two brothers, Harvey (Lorna) Anderson, Drayton and Walter (Wilma) Anderson, Nampa, Idaho; a sister Irene Anderson also of Nampa, Idaho; a sister-in-law Jane Anderson, Stephen; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Chester Anderson, and a nephew Loren Anderson.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Jan. 9, 2003 at 2 p.m. in Drayton Lutheran Church, Drayton with Rev. Ben Carlsen officiating. Active pallbearers were LaVerne Grundstrom, Brian Anderson, Lon Johnson, Michael Jensen, Gary Jensen, and Michael Larson. Internment was in Skjeberg Cemetery, rural Drayton. Arrangements were with Adamson-Austin Funeral Home, Drayton.
