In March 1768 William Blaydes and others were charged with attending an "unauthorized religious service" at the house of Jacob Burtrus, a former quaker, who along with his brother John form the nucleus of Carmel Church, Caroline Co.'s oldest Baptist Church. This altercation was one of the reasons Patrick Henry advocated for separation of church and state.
He furnished supplies for the revolutionary war. May have owned land in Kent Co.
