Philip J. Stocker Services Held
Philip J. Stocker, 84, Jordan, passed away Sunday evening, Apr. 13, at Queen of Peace Hospital, New Prague.
The funeral was held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at 10 a.m. Apr. 16. Reviewal was at Strait-Ballard Funeral Home Apr. 15. Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Jordan.
He was born Aug. 23, 1890, in the St. Joe area to William and Sophia (Dols) Stocker. He married Margaret Zaun, May 1, 1917 at St. Benedict.
Until his retirement in 1963, he was a custodian at the Minneapolis Club. Prior to that he was employed by the University of Minnesota Hospitals.
Survivors include four sons: Elmer, Sante Fe Springs, Calif., Melvin, New Prague, Ralph and Wilfred, Jordan; five daughters: Mrs. Alfred (Theresa) Huckenpoehler, Waconia, Mrs. Emmanuel (Rosalia) Kes, Chaska, Sr. Josephine Stocker, St. Paul, Mrs. Bernard (Irene) Shambour, Cologne, and Mrs. Septer (Marcella) Johnson, Marling Heights, Mo.
Brothers and sisters surviving are Joseph, Le Center, Alphonse, Jordan, Laurence, Shakopee, Mrs. Elizabeth Dorenkamper, Ivanhoe, Mrs. Helen Lambrecht, New Prague, Mrs. Alfred (Clara) Geis, Shakopee, Mrs. Florian (Kate) Karl, Jordan and Mrs. Mary Steinhoff, Shakopee. Also surviving are 22 grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
Six of the grandsons served as pallbearers. They are Eugene Kes, Chaska, John Stocker, Prior Lake, Jim Huckenpoehler, Waconia, Mike Stocker, Jordan, Jerry Stocker, Jordan, and Bernie Shambour, Cologne.
