William H. Halsema, 78 who lived on R. 7 died at 1 p.m. Sunday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Louise Moore, 2225 Elk street, where he had been living since July. He had been ill about a year.
Born in Texal Holland, he came here when 11 years old and was married in 1907 to Bertha Zink. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Order Foresters.
Surviving with the widow are four sons, William H. Jr., Edward and Carl J. all of Lafayette and Robert of Frankfort, six daughters, Mrs. Louise Moore and Mrs. Gertrude Charlesworth both of Lafayette, Mrs. Dorothy Zink of Fowler, Mrs. Margaret Glick of Colfax, Mrs. Betty Franks of French Lick and Mrs. Rita Nelson of Battle Ground and one brother Martin of Milford, MI.
