William Hatfield Defendants} Petition in Equity
The Plaintiffs Ephraim, John, Phoebe, Valentine, Thomas, Smith, McGinnis, Ferrell, Richard, Joseph Hatfield states that they together with said Defendant William Hatfield executed an obligation binding each other in the penal sum of $4000, date 19th June 1854. They being the only heirs at law of Joseph Hatfield deceased – to convey to each other the several allotments of land belonging to Joseph estate to be laid off by Adron Runyon, Jeremiah Hatfield, & Hudson Blackburn also the said Plaintiffs & Defendant executed a like obligation on the 15th day of Jan 1854 in the sum of $500 – to each other to stand to the division of personal property belonging to said Joseph estate – as made by said Runyon, Jeremiah Hatfield, and Blackburn which bonds is herein filed marked (A) (B) and made a part hereof – the Plaintiff states that said Runyon, Hatfield and Blackburn in pursuance to the agreement in said Bonds went as and divided the lands of said Joseph deceased and taken the possession of the same & made their conveyance except who refuses to make conveyance to the Plaintiffs – the division on allotments with boundary & will in due time be filed & when filed made a part hereof they states that division was also made of personal property & said Defendant refuses to accept the same & the Plaintiffs asks that said Defendant may be compelled to execute his conveyance to the Plaintiffs each allotment accept the division of property and for all proper relief & will ever pray. Know all men by these present that we Wm. Hatfield, Ferrell Hatfield, Ephraim Hatfield, John Hatfield, Phoebe Hatfield, Valentine Hatfield, Richard Hatfield, Joseph Hatfield, Thomas Hatfield, Smith Hatfield, McGinnis Hatfield we are held and firmly bound unto each other in the penal sum of five hundred dollars.
The A above obligation is such that we severally agree for Jeremiah Hatfield, Hudson Blackburn, Adron Runyon to be divide Joseph Hatfield deceased all of his property with the exception of his land, moneys and debts we bind ourselves to stand to his verdict of either of us don’t stand to his deviation the above obligation is to be in full virtue if not to be void given under our hands this day and dated above written.

Know all men by the present that we William Hatfield, Ephraim Hatfield, John Hatfield, Phebe Hatfield, Valentine Hatfield, Thomas Hatfield, Smith Hatfield, McGinnis Hatfield, Ferrell Hatfield, Richard Hatfield, and Joseph Hatfield are held and firmly bound to each other in the sum of five hundred to be paid by me severally. The condition of the obligation of each that whereon Joseph Hatfield departs this life having oral estate to the value of $4000 and we the above party being his heirs at law have agreed for Adrian Runyon, Jeremiah Hatfield, Hudson Blackburn to divide the land said Joseph Hatfield owned at the time of his death _ not having record to quantify quality and value and we bind ourselves so convey to each of his by a deed of petition the _ of land that may be assigned to each of them and we bind ourselves severally to each other in the above penal $4000, to abide the therein and all above when made and at made by said commission given under our hands the 29th day of June 1854.

Adron Runyon (1801-1859) married Nancy Maynard (1810-1883) on 23 Dec 1824, Pike Co. KY. They had 14 children: Sarah (b.1827), Mitchell (1830-1886), Asa Harmon (b.1831), John Compton (b. 1833), Arminda (1834-1918), Louise (b. 1836), Mary (b. 1839), Elizabeth (b. 1841), Thomas Wallace (b. 1843), William Anderson (b. 1845), Charity (b. 1847), Adrion (b. 1849), Moses (b. 1852), Orrison Peter(1855-1897). All legitimate. I have specific birth dates for each of these children. All of them were born in Pike Co. KY.
