Peter Blank testified that he was drafted into a company of militia May 1777 in Salisbury Twn., Northampton Co.,Pa (Now Lehigh Co.) serving under Captian John Kennedy and Lt. Daniel Unglemeyer. Marched up the Delaware River to Missinging , 90 miles above Easton, Pa. protecting the country against Indians . Discharged 25, August , returned home. Drafted again in June 1778 at Salisbury Twn under the same officers, marched up the Delaware River in Deskertown, then in Northampton Co near 100 miles above Easton, again, engaged in scouting and protecting the inhabitants against the Indians on the frontier. Served until late September 1778 a total of 3 months , 7 days that tour. Peter was born in Northampton Co 1757. Has a record of his age at his home in Mount Pleasant Twn. Granted pension of $ 21.32 per annum on May 25, 1833, paid arrears to September 4, 1833. ================================================ PVT. 8 CO. 1 BATT, PA MILITIA, REVOLUTIONARY WAR. Born is Salisbury Township, Northampton County, PA (now Lehigh County) and died in Mt. Pleasant Township, Columbia County, PA. where he had moved in about 1800. He was the son of Christopher and Anna Elizabeth (Horlacher) Blank and married his wife Catherine on April 15, 1779.
