Gijsbert was baptized in Ijsendoorn, and because his siblings had been baptized in Ochten, I had only searched in Ochten and it took until February 2001 to find this baptismal record under Ijsendoorn. Antonij van den Bergh son of Jacob Remme (son of Rem Rijcken) is referred to as a nephew to Gijsbert Remme's wife Magdalena on Page 329 of "Protocol van Bezwaar", LDS film # 0860493, a document dealing with "Magescheid" (division of goods) of Magdalena & Gijsbert Budding (which is Magdalena's second husband as of February. 19, 1748). This clearly makes Gijsbert Remme a brother to Jacob Remme and makes Rem Rijcken his father and this had been the only sure connection prior to finding the baptismal record. The name "van den Berg" (without the h") appears at the time of Gijsbert Remme's profession of faith, done on Thursday before Easter in 1736 (donderdag voor Paascha) and again at his marriage to Magdalena in 1737. When daughter Cuijnera is baptized his name is written "Gijsbert remme van berg" and at the baptism of Evert his name is recorded as "Gijsbert remmen van den berg".Gijsbert and Magdalena purchase an inheritance that Remmert Van Rijn (son of Jan Wessele & the late Cunera van den Bergh, sister to Gijsbert) had received from his grandfather Remme(r)t Rijcken van den Bergh and Merritje Jacobsen, for F150.00 on July 13, 1737. Is that possibly why their first child is named Cuijnera in memory of her or was she named after his grandmother? Gijsbert probably was about 56 years old when he died, because as per marriage notes from the Hervormde Kerk in Ochten: "Magdalena (weduwe van Gijsbert remmen van den berg = widow of Gijsbert remmen van den berg) was remarried on February 18, 1748 to Gijsbert Budding".
