Stockbridge – Mrs. Frank Markow, a sister of Mrs. Geo Bowe, died at Fond du Lac Saturday night.

She was born Apr. 8, 1877 in the town of Rantoul, a daughter of Thomas and Margaret Skahen and attended the Chilton high school. She later completed a course at the Oshkosh State Teachers college, after which she taught in Calumet county schools. In 1900 she was married to Jack Thorsen in Waukesha and they resided in that city prior to moving to North Fond du Lac in 1901. They were among the first resident of the village. Mr. Thorsen died in 1922 and in 1930 Mrs. Thorsen was married to Frank Markow.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Jack, of North Fond du Lac; a daughter, Mrs. Lloyd S. Clarke, Fond du Lac; two grandchildren, Bob and Dick Clarke; six sisters, Mrs. George Bowe, Stockbridge, Mrs. Byron MacDougal, Oconto Falls; Mrs. Robert Riordan, Milwaukee; Mrs. Harvey Hodgins, Gillett, Mrs. Edward King, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Frank King, Chilton; and a brother, Dan Skahen, Chilton.

Funeral services were held Wednesday from the Church of the Presentation. The Rev. John J. Sullivan, pastor, officiating. Burial was at Rienzi cemetery.
