In the next generation, the eldest neice, Louisa, seems to be uncertain as to her birthplace as the 1861 census (RG9/459 f84 p17) shows it as Middlesex, whereas all the other census show Surrey Barnes. The 1841 census (HO107/698 f9 p12) certainly shows a 24 year old Louisa Cook to be living with a John Cook in Hackney, but their relationship is not recorded. Ten years later the 1851 census (HO107/1605 f301 p17) has an entry for a 29 year old, born in Barnes, in service with a Mr and Mrs George in Richmond. Both the 1861 (see above) and 1871 census (RG10/868 f133 p17) show Louisa to be in Richmond but living with her sister Mary and the Phebey family. In 1861 she is a general servant (for whom ?) but in 1871 she is a laundress. In 1881 (RG11/848 f68 p16) she is living with her widowed sister Caroline in Barnes. The date of her death is uncertain, but the GRO register for Richmond has an entry for a Louisa Cook (72) in the December quarter of 1886. Again there is a conflict in the age, but I think it highly likely that all these entries related to the same person
