Jack Casey moved to Bass with his family about the same time that the Koetsvelds arrived. The Caseys were
Gippsland farming people.
During the war Jack served in New Guinea as a driver.
When first married he and Lorna share farmed on the ridge at Tarwin Lower.
They bought a farm at Kings road Bass and farmed their all Jacks life. He also opperated a hay contacting business in
season having 3 tractors and a tray tip truck along with baler, rake etc .
Community involvement was important to Jack, he belonged to the Fire Brigade, was local cub leader, a member of
the RSL, Masonic Lodge, on various church committes and the supplier member on the board of Unigate.
Jack died suddenly of a heart attack in 1980 aged 59. He felt unwell when milking and told Lorna so and that he was
going over to the house. An ambulance was called which took Jack to Wonthaggi and was dead on arrival
