Famille de Edward Brown

Il est marié avec Eva Stella Taylor.

To refresh your memory my Mom Dolores wrote these bountiful words about her parents Ed and Stellie. I got quite weepy typing these words of rich family history of our incredible ancestors - common folk - who need to be lovingly remembered. It is important to realize our grandparents had dreams (as we have today). They made sacrifices, worked hard and had tough decisions to make. These are memories to be passed along to our children and our grandchildren. I want to keep Ed and Stellie alive in your minds.

Butcher day was a family event which carried certain traditions … we always had the pork tenderloin that night for supper … and we ground sausage to stuff if Pop could get the stuffer to work. Pop liked to "pop" a few expletives now and then, especially if Mom pushed him over the edge about the stuffer! She deplored foul language, and Pop would swear now and then just to spite her. Grandpa didn't have a wide range of swear words. The only word he used with regularity was "bunk". And when he said "bunk" he was not happy!!

Grandpa had a very sharp mind and could figure arithmetic in his head faster than most people could figure on paper. He could have been
an engineer, but he never went past 3rd grade.

He was not a fastidious person. Clothes were only meant to cover the body, never a thought of fashion. Family members were hard pressed in later years to find a gift for him and would resort to giving him cash, but, Grandpa would buy chicken feed. And he was happy to do so!

Mom said that Grandpa was plain spoken, rather serious, not given to much humor or frivolities. He was a good man, an upstanding citizen in the community, and well respected. Mother was forever in debt to him for two very important principles he instilled in her from an early age: 1) always tell the truth, 2) always pay your bills.

Humor was not one of Pop's attributes. He seldom gave out with a belly laugh. Life just didn't provide many opportunities for laughs, period.

There was a streak of superstition in his family. In their early marriage, they lived with Grandpa's mother. Certain strange and bizarre things happened - things considered as bad omens. Grandpa was adamant about not allowing 13 people at the table. When usual family company was comprised of 13, Grandma or Mom would sit by the stove to appease Grandpa!

Ils se sont mariés le 26 juin 1907 à Manchester, Dearborn County, Indiana, Verenigde Staten, il avait 25 ans.Source 1
