William Korver, 60, of Sioux Center died Wednesday, June 27 at the Sioux Center Hospital Nursing Wing after a short illness.
Services were at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 30, at First Reformed Church of Sioux Center with the Rev. Harold Lenters officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Korver was born March 20, 1901 in Alton where he lived his youth and attended country school. He married Matilda Muyskens February 12, 1925 at Alton. The couple lived in the Hospers, Alton and Le Mars area and retired in Sioux Center. She died January 20, 1990.
He was a lifelong member of the Reformed Church of America, serving as a deacon and elder and taught Sunday school and catechism for many years.
Survivors include four sons, Calvin of Alton, Dr. Arian of Sheldon, the Rev. Harold of Paramount, California and Willard of Tulsa, California; four daughters, Jeneva Hofmeyer of Sheldon, Harriet Brouwer of Teaneck, New Jersey, and Gladys Vander Berg and Arloa te Stroete, both of Sioux Center; 35 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren; a brother, Simon from Lynden, Washington; and two sisters, Martina Muilenburg and Mina Haverdink, both of Orange City.

Matilda Korver, 89, of Sioux Center died Saturday, January 20, at the Sioux Center Hospital Wing.
Services are at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 24, at First Reformed Church in Sioux Center with Dr. Thurman Rynbrandt officiating. Burial will be in Memory Garden Cemetery in Sioux Center.
The former Matilda Muyskens was born October 18, 1901, at Alton. She lived her youth in the Alton area and attended school in Floyd Township schools. She married William M. Korver in Alton February 12, 1925. The couple lived in Hospers, Alton, Le Mars and Sioux Center.
She was a member of First Reformed Church, the Mary Circle of the church and WCTU.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Calvin of Alton, Dr. Adrian of Sheldon, the Rev. Harold of Paramount, California, and Willard of Tulsa, Oklahoma; four daughters, Jeneva Hofmeyer of Sheldon, Harriet Brouwer of Teaneck, New Jersey, and Gladys Vander Berg and Arloa Te Stroete of Sioux Center; one brother, Dick Muyskens of Edgerton, Minnesota and one sister, Wilmina Somsen of Orange City.
