Census Record for Sioux County, Iowa: Holland Township, 1920: Dingena Van den Bos, 84, widowed, living with her daughter and son-in-law: Johannes & Elizabeth Schaap. Dingena says she came in 1856. She and Linje Versteeg, wife of Teunis Hansum were sisters. ADAS Papers indicate the date was 1849
Obituary from the Sioux County paper May 12, 1921: Friday the old mother Van den Bosch, at the house of the children, Mr. & Mrs. Johannes Schaap, she went into the eternal rest. She reached the age of 85 years an 10 months. The 9th of July, 1835 she was born in the Netherlands. At 20 years lifetime she came to America and settled first at Holland, Michigan, where she entered in the marriage with Peter Verduin. From this marriage the following children are yet living: Cornelis Verduin, Todd County, South Dakota, Mrs. John Schaap and Mrs. P. Noteboom of here; Mrs. C. Klein, Sioux Center, Peter Verduin, Litchville, North Dakota, and Leonard Verduin, Sioux Center. Later the family lived in Illinois, where the father died. Soon after the death of the father came the mother with her children to Sioux County, and established themselves first at Orange City, later the family lived in South Dakota after which she moved to near Sioux Center. About 20 years ago she for the second time entered into marriage with Mr. Van den Bosch, Mr. Van den Bosch who was taken away from here, four years ago by his death. Since then the mother has made her home with her children. Besides the children she has 31 grandchildren, also a number of great grandchildren. Up to her end she was aware of all the things around her and was longing for the end, and she was very happy to go to join Jesus. The funeral service was held Tuesday afternoon from the Christian Reformed Church under leadership of Rev. R. L. Haan. Contributed by Linda Vanderlinden. She is buried in West Lawn Cemetery, Orange City, under the name of Ver Duin.
