Brian Marvin Eilderts, age 47, of Parkersburg, Iowa, was born June 14, 1960, in Waterloo, Iowa, the son of Marvin and Mildred (Ridder) Eilderts. He received his education and graduated from the Parkersburg High School.
Brian was united in marriage with Janette Buss at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. Brian drove semi truck for Harry Eilderts and also for Robert Dean Trucking for many years. He then became self employed as a truck driver for 22 years until he became ill in 2002. They currently lived south of Parkersburg.
Brian was a member of the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church rural Holland, Iowa. He enjoyed customizing semi trucks, antique tractors and joining in on local tractor rides throughout Iowa. He enjoyed helping his brother and brother-in-law with field work. Brian loved spending time with his family, especially taking walks with Janette, going to his son’s sporting events, camping and being with his daughters and family.
Brian died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at his home of cancer. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alyia; a brother, Rodney Dean Eilderts; his paternal grandparents, Dick and Jennie Eilderts; his maternal grandparents, Henry and Katharina Ridder; and father-in-law, Terry Alan Buss.
Brian is survived by his wife, Janette Eilderts of Parkersburg, IA; two daughters, Annette Eilderts of Parkersburg, IA and Lindsey Dao of Waterloo, IA; one son, Daniel Eilderts, still NN at home; one step-son, Jeremy Buss of Kewanee , IL; one grandson, Andrew; one step-grandson, Adrian; his parents, Marvin and Mildred Eilderts of Parkersburg, IA; three brothers, Allan (Cathie) Eilderts of Alton, IA, Gaylen (Judy) Eilderts of Aplington, IA and Randall (Deborah) Eilderts of Ackley, IA; one sister, Julie (Prentice) Karsjens of Parkersburg, IA; and mother-in-law, Dorothy (Larry) van Ellen of Aplington, IA.
Funeral Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at the Pleasant Valley Reformed Church in rural Holland, with burial in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Parkersburg. Officiating for the service was Pastor Harlan DeJong. Organist was Marvin Boelman accompanying those in attendance singing “What A Friend We Have In Jesus” and “Savior Like A Shepherd Lead Us” and Stan Thompson sang “How Great Thou Art.” The casketbearers were Allan Eilderts, Randall Eilderts, Donny van Ellen, Gaylen Eilderts, Terrill Buss and Prentice Karsjens.
