Jan lived in Meerkerk, but moved on May 2, 1683 to Jaarsveld. In 1706 he returned to Willige Langerak, where he died around 1720. Jan rented 24.5 "morgen" land in Schoonhoven. He was also a registered user of land, dijslag no. 87 and no. 140, in Jaarsveld between 1689 and 1719. In 1719 the dike at the river on dijslag 87 was broadened 3 feet by order of the dike authorities of Lopikerwaard. He was user of 5 "morgen" land, dijkslag no. 146, in Jaarsveld between 1689 and 1719. The owner of this last parcel was Bailliu van der Putten and Juffr. van Neck.
He also owned and used 3.5 "morgen" land, dijkslag no.228, in Willige Langerak together with his brother Arie between 1669 and 1685. This landwas sold on August 29, 1725 to Leendert Sliedrecht, the later father in law of Arie Vuyren. Jan also was owner of another 5 "morgen" land, dijkslag 212, in Willige Langerak between 1669 to 1685.
Clearly Jan owned and used large parcels of land and he was an important man. As such he was "schepen" (i.e. town supervisor) of Willige Langerak in 1670. A "schepen" is the assistant to the "Schout" or major of the town.
The farm at Lekdijk west no. 67 in Willige Langerak was inhabited by Gerrit Cornelisz Vuyren between 1647 and 1669. In 1659 his son Bastiaan Gerritsz was the owner and his son Jacob Gerritsz Vuyren was the user. In 1669 Bastiaan Gerritsz's son Jan Bastiaansz Vuyren was the registered owner and user. This farm is one of the oldest farms in that neighbourhood and it is still in existance today. During restaurations in the 20th century there were no dated material found on the property that would indicate its build date. Experts estimate that the farm is at least 350 years old and say that it is still close to its original state. Unfortunately the original rounded windows have been replaced by straight concrete windows. In the stable there is a very old tiled floor with a "karnmolen" (mill for turning butter), which was probably powered by horse. This farm has been owned for several generation by the Eikelenboom family. In 1918 the farm underwent major restaurations, which explains the excellent state of the farm. The farm is a registed monument in the Netherlands.
