Henry was born in Washington Co., GA. His family had moved to Wilkerson Co, GA by 1811 as he and his mother, Millie, united (joined) with Ramah Primitive Baptist Ch in Wilkerson Co, GA in 1811. Note: Wilkerson Courthouse burned 1852.

Henry is found in 1820 Telfair Co, GA. By 1824, Henry had moved from Telfair Co to Irwin Co as he served on the Irwin Co Petit Jury in 1824. He is listed in the census of 1830 Lowndes, GA (created from Irwin in 1825.) His transfer of membership from Ramah Prim Bap Ch in Wilkerson received by letter)into Union Primitive Baptist Church on Apr 9 1831,located in Lowndes Co., GA (now Lanier, Co created 1919 from Lowndes). The Apr 9 1831 date supports his 1811 Wilkerson residence.

The deed of Henry's home place is found Berrien Co. GA Bk B p 101 as mentioned in a deed dated Sep 25 1852, land of Henry Castleberry, deceased, signed by Mourning and four youngest children. The location being a part of land lot 330, 9th Dist of Berrien Co., GA. This area would have been located in Irwin, Lowndes, Berrien, and now Cook.

In 1836, Henry, Jr operated a U S Post Office in his home in Berrien Co., GA now Cook. The 1840 Lowndes, GA census lists Mourning Castleberry as head of house with no male of Henry's age in the home; therefore, Henry is believed to have died after 1836 and before 1840 in Lowndes, GA in the area which is now Cook, GA. 1838 has become the accepted death year.

Henry married Mourning, maiden name unknown, in Wilkerson Co, GA according to the notes of Folks Huxford; their marriage date would have been prior to 1820 as they are in the 1820 Telfair, GA census. Marriage records for this period are not available.
